She has obtained her BA in Choreography from Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (NL) in 2008 and her MA in Curatorial Practice from Falmouth University (UK) in 2011.

Her research is concerned with questioning the space amid different art practices, and it comprises a variety of media united by a common point: the arrangement of structures tailored to the conditions, the specificity and the context of the project. She likes to think of herself as a strategist, devising frameworks that foster the emergence of situations. Exploring the spatial and conceptual borders of different media, her practice includes movement and improvisation performances, installations, videos and community projects, often with a very light and humorous taste.

Her works were presented in several European institutions and theatres, among others, Utrecht Academiegebouw, Korzo Theater, Theater Lantaren Venster, Nederlandse Architectuur Instituut, Fondazione Pistoletto and BJCEM. She was awarded prestigious international prizes as a solo dancer in Perugia and Spoleto, and her collaboration How Much is Enough? won two ResArtis Awards. Since 2008 she has co-founded, co-organised and curated the route of APES CONTAINER, an interdisciplinary artists’ collective based in the Netherlands.

Next to her practice, she also thoroughly enjoys teaching workshops to actors and non-dancers. Since 2005 she has devised programs of Body Awareness for actors and Improvisation and Composition for adult absolute beginners.

M. Eugenia Demeglio is one of the twenty certified Countertechnique® teachers in the world, is an Associate Lecturer in Dance at Falmouth University and a Resident Improvisation Teacher at the Laboratorio Internazionale della Comunicazione. She has joined the OpenFLR team in 2015.
